ALATAP  was created for the purpose of protecting people from the fear and harm that is produced by acts of planned violence.  We serve all of Latin America and the Caribbean.  ALATAP is one of six associations of threat assessment professionals (TAPs) that exist around the world, all of which were established for the same fundamental purpose.  Through research and science, enormous insight has been gained into human behavior, and we have successfully addressed issues such as workplace violence, threats, stalking, domestic and intimate partner violence, and planned violence, among others. By developing tools, sharing information and the continued refinement of processes, we are in an increasingly better position to identify violence risk and to take steps to intervene beforehand.  

 

ALATAP seeks to attract anyone with the skills and ability to contribute to these processes, and a willingness to share their knowledge and experience with other like-minded professionals.  Whether your background is in security, intelligence, human resources, psychology, law enforcement, legal, or any other profession that works to identify and manage behaviors of concern, this organization is a resource.  Through our combined efforts, we can mitigate acts of targeted violence.  Please consider joining us and help make a difference in your community!
